7.30 am and Shirley Stelfox is as bright a a button on GMTV.
She was asked about Edna,and the current storyline She answered its the realisation of her vunrablility, she was independent because of what's happened isn't any longer, and for someone living alone and with a sweet nature such as Edna it comes as a shock.
The background to the accident was told by the interviewer.
The reason she went over was because Jarvis's cough mixture mad her slower than usual she couldn't jump out the way.
There was a clip of her having words with Sam at the hospital bedside.
Edna was more shocked because of all the people who could have done that she would never have thought of it being Sam as he wouldn't leave a wounded animal.
Another programme Shirley has been in was Keeping Up Appearances. A picture was shown And she was asked if she enjoyed playing her. She Did and Edna wouldn't have approved to her was the answer. She would have called her a harlot. This was said to laughter.
Shirley was then thanked and asked back to LKtoday.

Another clip was sown of the show, this time for the first time they learn of Sam's guilt.
Shirley was welcomed by Lorraine and told she looked so much more clamorous in real life.
Lorraine said how vulnerable Edna was lying there in a hospital bed.
"It's the core of her been taken away" replied Shirley who went onto say what she had said on the earlier interview it was also mentioned about the nurse calling Edna by her first name something that Mrs. Birch never has Edna feels her dignity was taken away from her.
It was the same as the list of clothes she wanted from home, Edna couldn't bring herself to mention her "netherwear" so wrote it down.
Shirley said she loves playing Edna, Edna says things that others wish they could say. But she isn't a gossip as she doesn't say things behind peoples backs.
Shirley was also in Coronation street, she appeared in the first year then played alsorts of character in and out, until Shirley decided she wanted to commit to Emmerdale she had done alsorts of things
she wanted to do everything and that's what she tried to do.
Lorraine again mentioned Keeping up appearances, Shirley did only do the first series. While the second was on she was doing Making out.
Unlike many actresses said Lorraine you seem to go from one job to another. Have you ever been out of work? Of course said Shirley I left Rada 45 years ago and it would be a miracle if one was working for the whole of that time.
Shirley was married to Don Henderson, he died 7 years ago. She said either her or her step daughter goes to Stratford to put a blue flower in the river where is ashes are. Shirley added that Paula who plays Betty is a great friend, often goes to Stratford she is a great lover of it, and says Hello to Don by the river. Shirley went on to say Don would have loved Edna.
They talk more of the up and coming storyline, mentioning there was lots of humour. Something agreed Shirley and Lorraine Emmerdale does well.
